It’s rare to find a vendor as quick to respond and do so in a structured, metric-centric manner as Scenic West. As far as their work product, we turned over the design to Erin and her team and the feedback we’ve received from the top insurance companies, agencies, employees and consumers has exceeded expectations. The attention to optimizing the customer journey is unparalleled. Thank you, Scenic West!

The Client

ConsumerOptix is an InsurTech company that offers a white label instant decision term life insurance application platform for major insurance carriers, such as The Hartford and Assurity. Their new SaaS product has gained them attention as “one of the fastest-growing startups” in the Dayton area by the Dayton Business Journal.

The Goal

We had partnered with the team at ConsumerOptix on another project previously, so were excited to collaborate with their leadership team and lead UX/UI design for their new SaaS product. ConsumerOptix was looking for flexible, fractional UX/UI design support and a high quality, scalable white label product user experience from day one.

The Results

Building on their development team’s proof of concept, we were able to quickly review and optimize their initial UX, create a design system that worked with their select UI framework, and provide a strategy for their white label product experience that would delight insurance carrier partners while being mindful of accessibility. The early feedback ConsumerOptix received about their InsurTech user experience from top insurance companies, agencies, employees and consumers has exceeded expectations.

How We Did It

  • Conducted a UX audit of their initial development prototype and competitor experiences
  • Collaborated with the ConsumerOptix CEO, CPO, and Lead Engineer in a lean, Agile manner to quickly deliver their InsurTech product MVP
  • Created responsive, high-fidelity mockups and clickable prototypes
  • Created a Figma design system building on their selected UI framework for efficiency
  • Created a white label product strategy and supporting UX/UI designs to convey functionality to the development team
  • Advised on accessibility guidelines, such as WCAG 2.1
  • Iterated with the ConsumerOptix team to add new functionality and further optimize the UX post-launch
