The Goal
When we met Ordway Labs in 2020 they were looking for contract UX/UI design leadership to support an upcoming platform redesign and other product roadmap initiatives. Flexible, fractional UX/UI design support meant they could cover UX/UI design needs efficiently and flexibly as their team grew and the roadmap flowed between more technical priorities and ones that required more substantial UX/UI design work.
The Result
We provided ongoing UX/UI design support for over two years, working directly with Ordway Labs’ CEO at the beginning and then evolving our UX/UI design processes to support a growing number of Product Managers and developers as Ordway’s business grew. Our flexible , fractional UX/UI design support was able to adapt to their needs over time while also providing a long-term, consistent voice on UX strategy for their team as Product Managers and other full-time team members came and went. We were able to efficiently support several product teams for less than the cost of a single full-time Lead Product Designer.

How We Did It
- Conducted a UX audit of their current product, competitor research, and user research to inform upcoming UX/UI design work
- Facilitated product design requirements gathering and design workshops with internal stakeholders
- Collaborated with Ordway’s growing team of Product Managers and Engineers on UX strategy
- Created a new style guide for their platform
- Owned UX/UI design deliverables needed by the product teams, including wireframes, high-fidelity mockups, clickable prototypes, and design specs for the development team
